The latest step in the ongoing litigation involving one of Michigan State’s all-time great basketball players took place on Tuesday, as the attorney for former MSU star Mateen Cleaves asked a judge in Flint to remove the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office from a rape case involving Cleaves.
According to a report in the Detroit News, Cleaves’ attorney, Frank Manley, asked the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office to be removed because the alleged victim worked for the county on a sexual/child abuse task force.
The motions were filed before a hearing that was supposed to determine if the case to proceeds to trial.
