The awards continue to pile up for the Michigan State Spartans as they prepare to play Alabama in the College Football Playoff Cotton Bowl semifinal on Dec. 31.

As Spartan Nation reported over the weekend http://spartannation.com/2015/12/13/three-spartans-named-associated-press-all-americans/ three members of the team were named to the Associated Press All-American team on Sunday, including center Jack Allen who was named to the first team. Joining Allen as All-Americans are offensive tackle Jack Conklin, who was named to the second team, and defensive end Shilique Calhoun, who was voted to the third team.

The All-American awards continue a run in recent years of Michigan State players to be given that honor. Running back Javon Ringer was named in 2008, linebacker Greg Jones took the honor in 2009 and 2010, and defensive lineman Jerel Worthy was named to the team in 2011.
