EAST LANSING -- Michigan State redshirt freshman defensive end Montez Sweat, who did not play in Saturday's 35-21 win over Air Force, is "suspended for this point in time" for an undisclosed reason, coach Mark Dantonio said today.
Dantonio said the suspension is not long-term, but he did not give a timetable for Sweat's return. Sweat is not on the depth chart for No. 2 MSU's home game against Central Michigan (1-2) on Saturday (noon, Big Ten Network).
Also on the depth chart, Shane Jones is the No. 1 middle linebacker while starter Riley Bullough sits out the first half under the "targeting" rule.
