EAST LANSING – OK, so they didn't stay for the whole opera.
"We sort of made it about halfway through, and we were like, 'Ah, can't really understand the Italian, let's get out of here,' " Michigan State offensive lineman Jack Conklin said.
They also don't remember the name of the opera. But they won't soon forget the Sydney Opera House, one of Australia's landmarks and one of the highlights of a summer study abroad trip for Conklin and three teammates.
"You can't grasp it in a picture," backup quarterback Tyler O'Connor said. "It's incredible."
O'Connor called it a "lifetime experience," and that's part of the idea when it comes to studying abroad, a longtime staple at Michigan State.
