Stony Brook University, where new Michigan State University President Samuel Stanley has been in charge since 2009, is the subject of three open federal Office of Civil Rights investigations into how it handled sexual assault complaints on campus.
Stony Brook has also been sued several times in federal court over how it handles campus sexual assaults, including by a student accused of sexual assault.

The Office of Civil Rights has a couple hundred open investigations, including several at Michigan universities, including the University of Michigan and Michigan State.
