East Lansing – Monty Madaris knows a little bit about hanging in there, too, it seems.
Much of the attention this fall at Michigan State has been on the fact quarterback Tyler O’Connor, a fifth-year senior, has persevered through three seasons behind Connor Cook, eventually being named the starter this season.
But he happens to have a kindred spirit in Madaris. The two came to Michigan State together in 2012 and both had high hopes. And while O’Connor was involved in a quarterback battle early and saw action as Cook’s backup, Madaris had trouble seeing the field at all over the past three seasons.
