EAST LANSING, Mich. – The “Spirit of Detroit,” an iconic monument located in the heart of downtown Detroit at the Coleman A. Young Center on Woodward Avenue, will don an oversized Michigan State football jersey, beginning on Monday, Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. ET to celebrate the Big Ten Champion Spartans making their first appearance in the College Football Playoff.
The third-seeded Spartans (12-1, 7-1 Big Ten) will play SEC Champion and second-seeded Alabama (12-1, 7-1) on Thursday, Dec. 31 in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium.
