Spirit of Detroit statue to wear Michigan State Football jersey for first time

One of the most iconic monuments in the state of Michigan, the Spirit of Detroit statue which resides in downtown Detroit, will don a Michigan State football jersey starting Monday for the first time since it was created in 1958.

As seen below, the statue has supported some of the state’s sports teams with big games looming such as Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and, a long time ago, Pistons by wearing oversized jerseys of those specific teams.
