GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Michigan State hockey team picked up its biggest win of the season on Friday night, topping No. 5 North Dakota, 4-3, in front of a crowd of 11,265 at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. Redshirt freshman defenseman Jerad Rosburg scored twice an added an assist, while goaltender Ed Minney made a season-high 30 saves, including 13 in the third period.
Trailing 1-0, the Spartans scored four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead early in the third period. But a major penalty to the Spartans gave the Fighting Hawks life midway through the third period and two quick goals made it a 4-3 game.
