PORTLAND, Maine - The Michigan State hockey team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Lake Superior State, 4-1, in its second game of the Ice Breaker Tournament at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. Mackenzie MacEachern scored twice and Jake Hildebrand made 29 stops as the Spartans went 1-0-1 on the opening weekend.
“We faced some adversity this weekend and guys stepped up,” said MSU head coach Tom Anastos. “For us, I think it was a really good team win and a confidence boost.
