ANN ARBOR - A 24-save performance by Ed Minney and a pair of goals from the Spartans’ fourth line lifted the Michigan State hockey team past Michigan, 3-0, on Friday night at Yost Ice Arena. The shutout was the first of Minney’s career and first for the Spartans at Yost since January 2008.
“I thought it started in goal,” MSU head coach Tom Anastos said. “Ed Minney came up big, especially early. I thought he was a real good penalty-killer for us tonight; it was nice to see him get his first shutout.
