EAST LANSING - The Michigan State hockey program continues to be well-represented in the National Hockey League this season with 15 Spartans playing in the league. The 15 Spartans were tied for the fourth most alums of any school playing in the NHL in 2014-15. Of the 15 in the NHL this season, eight will be taking part in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begin on Wednesday, April 15.
Michigan State has had a Stanley Cup winner in six of the last nine seasons. Duncan Keith, who claimed his second Stanley Cup in 2013, was the last Spartan to win the Cup.
