East Lansing – Michigan State flirted with disaster again on Saturday, and like the Spartans did during the non-conference portion of the season, they managed to escape with a victory.
This one took a fourth-down stop with a minute to play, but it was enough for No. 2 Michigan State to earn a 24-21 victory in front of 74,418 at Spartan Stadium, though most had headed home by the time the clock ran out.
Freshman LJ Scott carried the ball 18 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Spartans (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) while Madre London carried 17 times for 97 yards.
