East Lansing — Michigan State defensive end Demetrius Cooper will be subject to daily alcohol testing as part of a new agreement stemming from an incident last October in which he is accused of spitting on a local code enforcement officer.
Cooper was ordered to appear on Thursday for a show cause hearing after video surfaced on social media of the defensive end drinking alcohol, a violation of his original bond agreement. According to 54B District Court records, he appeared Tuesday and was ordered to submit to the daily tests between 5 a.m. and 9 a.
