BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Michigan State hockey team overcame a two-goal deficit to come from behind and top Ferris State, 4-3, on Saturday night at Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids. Mason Appleton scored twice, including the eventual game-winner with 9:37 to play in the third period, netting the last of three straight goals for the Spartans (3-6).
Trailing 3-2 but carrying the play for the majority of the second half of the game, the Spartans were eventually rewarded, scoring two goals in a 1:21 span to tie the game and then take the lead.
