Spartan Women’s Tennis Falls At Minnesota, 5-2

Michigan State women’s tennis dropped a Big Ten road contest at Minnesota, 5-2.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Michigan State dropped its first of two weekend contests on Friday, April 1, falling to No. 70 Minnesota, 5-2, at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

“Minnesota played better, and we didn’t step up when we needed to,” said head coach Simone Jardim. “Going into Sunday (at Wisconsin) we need to be ready to fight and play with a sense of urgency.”

The Spartans (9-7, 1-3 B1G) fell behind after the doubles point, dropping two of three. Junior Erin Faulkner and sophomore Allie Baer claimed their fifth-consecutive match, knocking off Minnesota’s Paula Rincon-Otero and Annemarie Emme, 6-1.
