The Spartans just finished up their first home series of the year this past weekend when they faced the Niagara Purple Eagles.
It was a four game stint at Kobs Field that they ended up splitting. MSU came extremely close to winning the series during Sunday’s finale due to a miraculous ninth inning comeback but the Spartans fell just short.
We saw a little bit of everything from Michigan State this weekend. They were able to string together some quality offense, stellar pitching, and even stole eight bases in a single game. The quality of competition was indeed low but seeing MSU stay consistent over the four game stretch was important, especially with the conference schedule starting Friday (against Michigan).
