EAST LANSING – Michigan State manager Jake Boss said his team hasn’t gotten a lot of breaks this season.
Unfortunately for the Spartans, that trend continued right to the bitter end.
MSU squandered a golden opportunity to knock off in-state rival Michigan on Saturday at McLane Stadium, failing to plate the game-winning run with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the ninth. Instead, the No. 15 Wolverines escaped the inning and tacked on a run of their own in the 10th to win 2-1 and take 2 of 3 in the final series of the regular season.
