Madison, Wis. — Another road game, another slow start for Michigan State.
It proved, once again, to be too much to overcome for the Spartans as they rallied in the second half Saturday but came up short as Wisconsin held on for the 64-63 victory at the Kohl Center.
No. 14 Michigan State (16-6, 8-3 Big Ten) had won eight in a row against Wisconsin but made just five of its first 22 shots to allow the Badgers to pull away in the first half. The Spartans now sit a half-game behind Illinois for first place in the Big Ten standings.
