East Lansing – Michigan State lost its third straight on Wednesday night, and with a top-10 team coming to the Breslin Center on Saturday, when the skid might stop is anybody’s guess.
Shavon Shields scored 28 points as Nebraska beat No. 11 Michigan State, 72-71, at the Breslin Center to hand the Spartans their second consecutive home loss and send them into Saturday’s matchup with Maryland reeling.
Nebraska, which is on a four-game win streak in the Big Ten, has won three straight over Michigan State and two in a row at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State (16-4, 3-4 Big Ten) has now lost three consecutive games for the first time since 2013 when it dropped three in a row to Indiana, Ohio State and Michigan.
