East Lansing — Even as Shilique Calhoun went through some of the biggest games of his junior season at Michigan State, he had an idea they wouldn’t be his last.
In the hours after the home loss to Ohio State, the idea of returning for his senior year was on his mind. And in the middle of Michigan State’s thrilling victory over Baylor in the Cotton Bowl, he even let some of his teammates know what he was thinking, even if they were more focused on the task at hand.
“In the bowl game I knew I was coming back,” Calhoun said last week at the Big Ten’s media days in Chicago.
