EAST LANSING – Michigan State's running on fumes. More like crawling.
There isn't another team currently in more dire need of a bye week than the Spartans. They looked mentally and physically fried in the second half against Indiana on Saturday — particularly on an offensive line already riddled with injuries.
Tired and ticked off, the Spartans dug deep for a little extra resolve with the Hoosiers hanging around, thinking of toppling a top-10 team.
And, trust me, there wasn't much left in reserve.
Michigan State found a way, riding the right arm of a senior quarterback who's increasingly looking like a sure-fire first-round NFL draft pick.
