Michigan State probably won't have a sellout crowd today in its first game being ranked No. 2.
MSU hasn't been ranked this high since 1966. And the Spartans' immediate reward is the acceptance that no matter how well a team is playing, it's hard to fill seats on Saturdays with the challenges of other far less expensive and time-intensive entertainment options. It's doubtful that a less-than-packed Spartan Stadium against Central Michigan is a reflection of a fan base suddenly spoiled by the successes of the previous four years.
If anything, the fans are probably bored already, considering that Michigan State likely won't face another ranked team until it meets Ohio State in Columbus.
