WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Several women who were sexually abused by former Michigan State University employee Larry Nassar over his decades in medical practice were in Washington, D.C. Tuesday afternoon to hear what former MSU and USA Gymnastics officials had to say at a U.S. Senate hearing.
Overall, they weren't impressed.
Following the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance and Data Security hearing on sexual abuse in sports Tuesday, survivors of Larry Nassar's abuse said comments and apologies from former MSU President Lou Anna Simon rang hollow.
"I don't think we got any true answers or the accountability we were seeking from any of the speakers," said Morgan McCaul, one of Nassar's victims.
