EAST LANSING, Mich. – RJ Williamson played between two future first-round draft picks in Michigan State’s defensive backfield, so he has a pretty good idea of what talent and ability look like.
He also doesn’t share the concern of those who think the Spartans will be have difficulty compensating for the loss of red-shirt freshman cornerback Vayante Copeland to a season-ending neck injury.
“I’m very confident,” Williamson said heading into Saturday’s game against Central Michigan at Spartan Stadium. “We have a lot of players who can play here. Young guys are stepping up, making big-time plays, and I’m comfortable with anybody that’s in the game, in any situation that we’re put in.
