EAST LANSING — The San Francisco 49ers team website is reporting the NFL franchise has signed former Michigan State defensive back and linebacker Mylan Hicks to a three-year deal, the terms of which were not disclosed.
Hicks began his career with the Spartans as a cornerback and safety before last season transitioning to MSU's hybrid linebacker position — known as the "star." He attended San Francisco's rookie minicamp last weekend on a tryout basis.
Hicks measured in at 5-foot-11 and 197 pounds, impressing scouts at the Spartans' pro day on March 18 when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.
