Michigan State football moved to 2-0 Saturday after demolishing Akron. The Spartans forced three first half Akron fumbles and four fumbles overall to provide a short field for an unstoppable rushing duo of Jarek Broussard and Jalen Berger, who scored five of the six Spartan rushing touchdowns.
After starting quarterback DJ Irons Jr. fell early with an injury, Akron’s offense fell apart as it became overwhelmed by Michigan State’s speed and strength. The fumbles led to three of MSU’s four first half scores and a 24-0 halftime lead.
It was more of the same in the second half.
