Sept. 1, 2007. A day that will live in infamy in college football.
Appalachian State (who?!) went into the Big House as unofficial 33-point underdogs and stunned No. 5 Michigan football in dramatic fashion, 34-32, giving the Wolverines their worse defeat in school history and one of the sport's greatest upsets ever.
Fast-forward exactly 11 years to the day, and the Mountaineers were at it again, this time in Happy Valley as a 34-point underdog at No. 9 Penn State.
But history did not repeat itself, as the Nittany Lions scored the final 14 points to escape, 45-38, in overtime.
