Northwestern football has gone to a bowl game in seven of the last nine seasons. The basketball team made the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever this March.
Both coaches have been rewarded.
The school announced today that both Pat Fitzgerald and Chris Collins have signed multi-year extensions.
Fitzgerald, who has 77 wins in 11 seasons as the football coach, now has a contract that runs through the 2026 season. Collins has spent the past four seasons as the Wildcats' basketball coach and now has a deal through 2024-25.
"This is home for me and my family, and I love this University," Fitzgerald said in a news release.
