The Republican and Democratic parties this weekend nominated candidates to the Michigan State University Board of Trustees, positions that have become controversial amid the Larry Nassar scandal.
There are two spots open on the board. Republicans nominated Dave Dutch and Mike Miller to fill the spots this weekend, while Democrats nominated Brianna Scott and Kelly Tebay.
On the Republican side, Dutch is a veteran, businessman and Spartan fan who earned an MBA from the university. He's running as a candidate who supports individual liberties and is pro-business and fiscally responsible. Miller is a businessman whose daughter was treated by Nassar, and he's running to be a "change agent," according to a biography.
