EAST LANSING - Competition at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games will begin this week for Spartans Jim Slater and Brock Radunske. Slater and the United States start play on Wednesday vs. Slovenia, while Radunske and Korea meet the Czech Republic on Thursday.
Slater is the ninth different Spartan to represent the United States in the Olympic Games. Additionally, 2018 will mark the fifth consecutive Olympiad in which Team USA’s roster will feature a former Spartan hockey player.
Slater, who played in the NHL from 2005-15, is in his third season playing professionally in Switzerland and is currently skating for Fribourg-Gotteron HC.
