EAST LANSING - Joe Bachie was verbally committed to Western Michigan before flipping to Michigan State.
The former three-star recruit from Berea-Midpark High School near Cleveland ultimately picked the Spartans over the Broncos and other MAC schools.
An offer from in-state power Ohio State? That was never going to come. The same can be said for nearly every one of the 26 players on Michigan State's roster from Ohio, with the exception of junior running back LJ Scott, who still chose the Spartans and coach Mark Dantonio.
"A lot of us, I feel like, are the underdog," Bachie said.
