EAST LANSING – Saturday was a tag-team situation at quarterback for Michigan State, but also a primer for the competition ahead.
Backup quarterback Tyler O'Connor got the start and the majority of the snaps, while No. 3 quarterback Damion Terry also contributed some key plays in MSU's 17-14 upset win at Ohio State. There's no word yet if that will have to continue Saturday against Penn State – that depends on the rate of improvement this week for starter Connor Cook's sprained right shoulder – but a win at Ohio Stadium should be a confidence boost for both if so.
