No. 4 Penn State Gets Past Spartans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania - The Michigan State hockey team dropped its opening game of a weekend series at No. 4 Penn State, 5-2, Friday night at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park. The Spartans took an early lead, but Penn State responded with three straight goals and never again gave up the advantage.

“We just couldn’t execute in certain situations tonight,” MSU head coach Tom Anastos said. “I thought our penalty kill did a nice job. I liked most of our even strength game but we just couldn’t execute enough and sustain it to get a win.
