No. 3 MSU beat No. 24 Louisville Wednesday night behind Denzel Valentine’s 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists to bring MSU’s record to 8-0. The Spartans came into this game after winning the Wooden Legacy championship over Providence College Sunday night, making this their seventh game in 15 days – and it showed.
MSU got a boost off the bench from freshman forward Deyonta Davis, as well as freshman Kenny Goins, who had 13 rebounds. The two bench players came who in and provided energy for the sluggish Spartans.
Davis scored seven points and had four rebounds in the first half finishing with nine points and six rebounds, with Goins earning a starting role in the second-half with his energy.
