No. 10 Spartans survive scare, improve to 7-0 with 20-15 victory in Indiana

Bloomington, Ind. — Michigan State has ridden its offense all season, but on Saturday at Indiana, the 10th-ranked Spartans leaned on its defense.

Busy turning the ball over and committing multiple penalties, the offense was bailed out by a defense that scored one touchdown and forced three turnovers, getting a pair of late stops to lead Michigan State to a 20-15 victory at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Michigan State (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) now heads to its bye week with Michigan coming to Spartan Stadium on Oct. 30.

The Spartans were limited to 241 yards while quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 126 yards and had a pair of interceptions.
