For Ricky White, the game plan really was fairly simple.
Even though this was his first taste of the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry, the Spartans’ freshman receiver knew the recipe for success wasn’t that hard to follow.
“Just make as many plays as I can,” White said, smiling, after he’d done exactly that Saturday in a stunning 27-24 upset of the Wolverines at Michigan Stadium.
White made plays all afternoon for the Spartans, setting a school record for a freshman with 196 receiving yards on eight catches. That eclipsed Cody White's 165 yards as a freshman against Northwestern in 2017.
