And after a long day, and an even longer month, this was what he decided: He’d seen enough.

So as the Homecoming crowd at Spartan Stadium roared and waved its white towels – not in surrender, but in support – Michigan State’s quarterback broke the huddle and started surveying the defense, looking from right to left and then back to his right.
Michigan State had the upper hand in double-overtime, after the Spartans’ defense had forced a fumble on Wisconsin’s second possession in extra time.
