EAST LANSING – Tom Izzo shook up Michigan State’s starting lineup.
In came Cassius Winston, Nick Ward and Matt Van Dyk. Out went Tum Tum Nairn, Eron Harris and Kenny Goins.
It worked. And it could be a sign of things to come for the Spartans.
Ward scored a season-high 25, Winston added nine points and eight assists, and MSU used pair of second-half runs to pull away from Oakland, 77-65, on Wednesday night at Breslin Center.
MSU built an 11-point lead before Oakland pulled within four thanks to a strong surge by foul-prone junior Jalen Hayes.
