New Michigan State commit Malik Hall brings unique skill set

EAST LANSING -- Luke Barnwell has coached Malik Hall for the past two high school seasons and for one summer, giving him as much insight into Michigan State's newest commit as anyone.

But ask him what position Hall plays and there's no easy answer.

"I don't really know what he is," Barnwell, who coaches Sunrise Christian Academy, said.

The question is difficult to answer because the 6-foot-8, 215-pound Hall has played in so many roles as a high school player and done many of them well. He's been a point forward. He's led the team's fast break and was the team's third-leading assist man last season, trailing only two-point guards.
