EAST LANSING – JT Stenglein has played in six games this season. And already, he can call it his best year as a Spartan.
After two forgettable seasons, Stenglein has earned a spot in Michigan State’s lineup as a top six forward and he’s producing, just like he and his coaches hoped he would two years ago.
The 6-foot, 205-pound junior from Greece, N.Y., is finally having fun coming to practice, taking a regular shift in games and playing at a level that helps his team and keeps him in the lineup.
Stenglein, a top scorer in junior hockey before arriving at MSU, made an impact on Friday with a goal and an assist as the Spartans bounced back from their worst game of the season on Thursday and played well in a 2-0 victory over Lake Superior State at Munn Arena to salvage a non-conference series split.
