EAST LANSING – It was supposed to be the game – and victory -that sent Michigan State into the holiday break on a positive note.
Instead, it was a game the Spartans would like to purge from their memory.
Just when Michigan State rallied from 2-0 deficit to tie it late in the second period, Northeastern quickly stopped any momentum the Spartans might built.
The Huskies scored 10 seconds after MSU’s second goal to go up 3-2, then dominated the third period with three unanswered goals and cruised to a 6-2 non-conference victory on Sunday afternoon at Munn Arena.
