UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – They call this place Happy Valley. For Michigan State, it’s more like Unhappy Valley.
The sky was blue and the sun was out, there was no rain or snow in the State College area from Thursday to Saturday, but on the ice at Pegula Area, it was nothing but misery for the Spartans against a formidable, high-scoring Penn State team.
Looking to rebound from Friday’s 4-2 loss to the Nittany Lions in their Big Ten opener, MSU was even more out of sync Saturday, and found itself down 2-0 before the game was four minutes old and 3-0 after the first 20 minutes.
