EAST LANSING – The losing streak has been halted. So has the winless streak.
Desperate for a victory, Michigan State on Friday overcame some adversity and found a way to achieve its most important win of the season with a spirited, come-from-behind 4-3 decision over Wisconsin at Munn Arena.
Justin Hoomaian, a fifth-year senior right wing known as a physical, energy player, started the night with one career goal. He ended it with two.
Hoomaian scored the Spartans’ biggest goal of the season thus far, and looked like a 20-goal scorer when he converted on a breakaway with 3:13 left in the third period, breaking a 3-3 tie and giving MSU a victory over the Badgers (3-7-5 overall, 0-2-1-0) in the opening game of a Big Ten series.
