EAST LANSING – It came down to the third period of a deadlocked and evenly played hockey game after 40 minutes.
Ohio State made some good plays and executed well.
Michigan State made some plays, too, but also made some costly mistakes and wasn’t as good with its execution.
The result was a frustrating loss for the Spartans and a good win for the No. 8-ranked Buckeyes, who have won six straight games.
Ohio State scored three consecutive goals in the final period, then gave up one, and held on for a 5-3 victory and Big Ten series sweep over Michigan State on Saturday night at Munn Arena.
