COLUMBUS, Ohio – Other than an unfortunate six-minute stretch early in the first period, Michigan State played a pretty solid game here Friday against the No. 5 team in the nation.
The Spartans gave up two early goals but had Ohio State scrambling early in the third period, outshooting the Buckeyes 8-1 and coming within a bounce of tying the game, 2-2. And after OSU halted MSU’s surge and went up 3-1, the Spartans converted on a power play to again make it a one-goal game with 7:39 left.
