EAST LANSING – Michigan State’s recent goals-per-game average took a big hit on Friday night at Munn Arena.
The Spartans, who scored four goals or more in each of their last five games, were kept in check by a stingy, well-balanced North Dakota team that is ranked No. 5 in the nation.
UND, making its first appearance at Munn Arena since the fall of 1980, kept the Spartans’ quality scoring chances to a minimum, and cruised to a 3-1 victory over MSU in front of 4,836 fans in the first game of a two-game non-conference series.
