EAST LANSING – It’s been 29 years since Michigan Tech last played Michigan State at Munn Arena. And it’s been 35 years since North Dakota last visited the home rink of the Spartans.
Those droughts will end over the next two weekends when MSU welcomes their former rivals from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for a pair of non-conference series.
First up, it’s No. 19 Michigan Tech (6-4 overall, 6-4 WCHA) facing the Spartans (4-4-1) this weekend – at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Then No. 4 North Dakota (9-1-2, 4-0 NCHC), no longer the Fighting Sioux and now known as the Fighting Hawks, challenges MSU at 7 p.
