EAST LANSING — The push to March Madness is underway, and Michigan State and Michigan are among the NCAA selection committee’s favorites.
The midseason top-16 seeds were revealed Saturday on CBS, and both the Spartans and Wolverines are projected 2-seeds for the 2019 NCAA tournament in the preliminary seeding.
Duke, Tenneesee, Virginia and Gonzaga would be the top seeds.
Purdue would be among the No. 3 seeds, and Wisconsin among the No. 4 seeds.
Michigan’s head-to-head blowout win over North Carolina slotted the Wolverines at No. 6 on the overall list, followed by the Tar Heels seventh.
