LANSING, MI - Victims of ex-MSU Dr. Larry Nassar have been fixtures in the Michigan capitol for the past few months, leading a press conference and testifying in support of a range of bills meant to ensure what happened to them doesn't happen ever again.
But under a settlement agreement announced Wednesday, victims have agreed not to actively support a portion of Senate sexual assault bills, said John Manly, an attorney with California-based firm Manly Steward Finaldi representing several of the victims.
Manly said as part of the agreement, victims would no longer support taking away governmental immunity from tort liability for governmental units involved in sexual assaults or cover-ups.
